Uno is a colored oil for wooden floors consisting of vegetables oils and resins. Used for the coloration of floors, furniture and woodwork, the colored oil for wooden floors Uno warmly enhances the wood grain while allowing it to breathe.

Easy to apply, the colored oil for wooden floors Uno leaves no films on the wood surface and is easy to maintain.

Uno needs to be covered with the wooden floor oil Secondo to increase the resistance.

WARNING

Prato-Verde recently made changes to its color palette in order to standardize its product line. Please note the following changes:

The Natural version was previously a colorless product, not containing any pigment. This version now contains white pigments which help preserve the natural color of white woods (white pine, maple, cedar, spruce, beech, aspen).
The Natural version must not be used on wood with open grain (oak, walnut, mahogany, elm) or on wood colored other than white or gray.
The Colorless version is the same as the previous Natural version and does not contain any pigmentation. It provides a warm, honey tone and can be used on all types of wood.
If you used the Natural version before and you want to restore a wooden surface with the same shade, you must now get the Colorless version.

Directions of use

Preparation : Stir well with a stick before and while using. Apply at a temperature above 15 °C. Wood must be sanded with 100 or 120 grit sandpaper. Vacuum to dust off. Prior to application on maple wood, wet the wood, let dry 2 hours and sand lightly with a 220 grit sandpaper.

It’s possible to mix colors. To decrease color intensity, it’s possible to mix the colored Uno with the natural Uno.

Application : Apply with a Lambswool Floor Applicator, Brush or a stain pad. After 5 to 15 minutes, wipe off with a cloth any excessive oil.

Number of coats : 1 coat. For a more intense color, it is possible to apply a second coat after 24 hours.

Drying time : 24 hours

DANGER OF COMBUSTION - Keep out of reach of children. Materials such as rags used with this product may begin to burn by themselves. After use, put rags in water or lay flat to dry, then discard.

How many coats of Uno and Secondo Oils can be applied?

Generally, the manufacturer recommends one coat of Uno oil (for color) and two coats of Secondo oil. However, if you do not wish to use Uno oil in order to maintain the natural color of the wood, an additional coat of Secondo will be required.

If you want to color the wood, you can apply up to two coats of Uno oil at 24-hour intervals. As for Secondo oil, you can apply 5 to 7 coats, or 3 to 5 coats if you use Secondo Mono Oil.

Note that the more coats of Secondo or Secondo Mono you apply, the more satin-like the finish will be. It is therefore recommended to apply one or two additional coats to improve wear resistance and reduce the frequency of refreshing.

Can Uno colored oil be used as a conventional wood stain?

Absolutely! Uno colored oil from Prato-Verde can be used as an alternative to a traditional wood stain. It is specifically formulated for wood application and offers many similar benefits to a regular oil-based stain, along with some additional advantages.

Uno oil is highly UV-resistant due to its iron oxide-based colorants, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. It also lightly seals the wood, preparing the surface for a protective finish that enhances and preserves its colors.

What should you do if the color of the first coat of Uno or Brio oil is not intense enough?

Uno and Brio penetrating oils from Prato-Verde belong to the same category. If the desired color is not intense enough after the first application, it is possible to apply a second coat after a drying time of 24 hours, without the need for special preparation. This second coat should be applied in the same way as the first. However, it is not possible to apply a third coat because the wood would be saturated with colorant, which would not allow the color to be intensified.
