FAQ

How many coats of Uno and Secondo Oils can be applied?

Generally, the manufacturer recommends one coat of Uno oil (for color) and two coats of Secondo oil. However, if you do not wish to use Uno oil in order to maintain the natural color of the wood, an additional coat of Secondo will be required.

If you want to color the wood, you can apply up to two coats of Uno oil at 24-hour intervals. As for Secondo oil, you can apply 5 to 7 coats, or 3 to 5 coats if you use Secondo Mono Oil.

Note that the more coats of Secondo or Secondo Mono you apply, the more satin-like the finish will be. It is therefore recommended to apply one or two additional coats to improve wear resistance and reduce the frequency of refreshing.

Review

secondo mono

BOB KOBYLANSKY · Jan 21, 2023

I re finished the hardwood floors in a house that was built in 1914. The floors were in pretty good shape but had to be refreshed, I did 3 coats of the secondo mono and they turned out fantastic. I am by no means an experienced wood finisher but I am very happy how the floors turned out, not to mention that everyone that has seen the floors are a little more than just a little impressed :-))
If i had them I would give 3 thumbs up for this product
THANK YOU

Easy to apply, nice finish.

Marcel Ball · May 12, 2022

Used it on the sanded plywood floors in my workshop. Very easy and quick to apply; think it would give a nice tone to wood as well if that's a concern. I guess I'll see if it holds up well with time - but have no reason to expect it won't hold up as well as other similar finishing oils.

Great addition to the finishes we offer

Kind of reminds me of Osmo, but not. Straight forward application process, put it on, wait about 10 minutes, then wipe off all the excess. Once its fully cures we will do the typical water spot tests and ensure that we applied it correctly. A nice low sheen result on Walnut and Oak.
