I bought old house and trying restore and repair it. One of the biggest problem is condensation of water on wood in basement. Basement have stone walls and dirt floor. It is always very humid and water condensation present on beams, plumbing pipes and electrical wires. With my limited budget I can't immediately fix issue with moisture, but I was wondering if I can paint wood with epoxy to prevent mushrooms and create barrier between wood and water. My question if I can apply epoxy on moist wood(it is no way to dry it) and if it is possible what product should I use?
Thank you for answering, it is good to know, epoxy is costly. Now I will go with regular varnish for outside uses with piece of mind and not worry that epoxy would protect better.
