I sprayed several table and cabinets with semi gloss Emtech with superb results. Two coats are fine.
This product has a viscosity that can easily be sprayed or brushed with minimal fuss. Self levelling low odor and quick drying are attractive properties of this water based finish. Clean-up is a cinch!. Thank you Emtech.
EM6000 Production Acrylic Lacquer

This is the first time trying water-based lacquer and I am really impressed with the results I obtained with it. It goes on nicely and self-levels well. I used an HVLP spray gun to apply it. A week later did a buff and polish and obtained a high gloss finish. This will become my go-to lacquer.

I find this stuff really easy to apply with my gun, easy of course to clean up. It can take a while to fully cure in the sense that wet sanding can expand the material a bit, which means that it can contract slightly after sanding. But if you're fast and allow it to dry between sandings it's great. I've been applying over the base coat over shellac and had great definition and clarity to the wood grain.

This is our go-to laquer. So far, we have used it on wood, on plastic, over paint, over oil stains... Once cured, it is extremely resistant and looks subtle, just like we want.
