Surface Preparation:
- The surface must be weathered, cleaned, dry and frost-free.
- Osmo Polymer Composite Maintenance Oil is ready to use. Do not thin. Stir well.
- Prior to application, the surface must be thoroughly cleaned with Osmo Polymer Composite Cleaner 8021. This ensures sufficient bonding.
- Before applying Osmo Polymer Composite Maintenance Oil, rinse thoroughly with
water and allow to dry.
Application:
- With Osmo Flat Brush or Osmo Decking Brush, apply very thinly and spread well.
- Remove excess material (pooling or streaks) with a clean dry Osmo Decking Brush. Important: the liquid oil must be absorbed into the surface. There must not be any oil remaining on the surface or in grooves. Excess oil dries very slowly and produces a glossy oil layer without sufficient adhesion to the substrate.
- Leave to dry for 8-10 hours. Ventilate well while drying.
Cleaning of tools:
With Osmo Brush Cleaner (free of aromatic compounds).
Drying time:
Approx. 8-10 hours (normal climatic conditions, 23 °C/50 % rel. humidity). Ventilate well while drying. Lower temperatures and/or higher air humidity may increase drying times.
Coverage:
1 litre covers approx. 40 m² with one coat. Product coverage depends significantly on the existing surface condition. All information refers to smooth surfaces. Other surfaces may lead to deviations in coverage.
Note:
- Oils enhance the natural colour of the substrate (permanent wet effect). Trial application is required!
- Impregnation may influence the slip resistance of the original surface. White or very light-coloured surfaces may become slightly yellow from oiling! Non-absorbent surfaces, such as glass, glazed tiles, ceramic or plastic, must be not treated (impregnated).
Caution:
Keep out of reach of children. Do not get in eyes, on skin, or on clothing. If medical advice is needed, have product container or label at hand. Use only outdoors or in a well-ventilated area. Warning: Wash out any used cloth impregnated with this product immediately after use or store in an airtight container (danger of self-ignition). Safety data sheet available on request.
