Surface preparation on new floors:
Sand according to NOFMA or NWFA recommendations. Finish sanding with 120 or 150 grit sandpaper. Do not use steel wool. Vacuum thoroughly and wipe with a dry cloth to remove all sanding dust
Apply stain following manufacturer's application and dry time instructions; spot test for compatibility. Make sure the surface is thoroughly dry before applying SamaN Grade+ finish. For best results, use SamaN stains.
Clean floor to remove all dirt and sand with a 120 grit sandpaper to sufficiently roughen floors. Check for contamination in a less visible area. Check adhesion of old finish. Spot test for compatibility of finish before proceeding. Do not use SamaN finish on a floor that did not pass the test. When test fails. full sanding is required.
Apply 2-3 uniform coats following the wood grain. Work gently with the applicator to minimize the amount of air mixed into the finish. Allow a dry time of 1-3 hours between coats.
