Beeswax is used in the preparation of encaustic and paste waxes, when diluted with a solvent such as turpentine. Beeswax is available either in chips or in a block of 350 grams. It can be colored with natural binding pigments. Beeswax provides a warm tint to wood that reminds of old furniture. Beeswax is non bleached, 100% pure and made in Québec.
For the preparation of a polish wax, mix one part of wax in chips to 3 parts of petroleum or vegetable solvent. For a creamier wax reduce the amount of solvent.
