To fill a broken or missing knot on a wooden surface, epoxy can be used in black or other available colors.

Options include UVPoxy from Ecopoxy or the 105 Resin and 207 Hardener from West System, which can be tinted to desired colors. Mohawk Epoxy Putty Sticks are also a possible option. Conventional wood filler is not recommended for filling such large openings.
