Can finishing oil be used on an epoxy-coated table?
Yes, applying finishing oil on epoxy will result in a matte or satin finish, depending on the type of oil chosen. To do so, the epoxy surface should be sanded thoroughly with 220-grit and 320-grit sandpaper, and then the finishing oil can be applied as if it were applied on bare wood. After application, excess oil should be wiped off, and the drying time recommended by the oil manufacturer should be followed. When the oil starts to wear off, a maintenance coat of oil can be applied to maintain the finish.
