After moving some heavy furniture, white marks appeared on an oiled floor. How can this be repaired?
If you notice whitish marks on your oiled floor after moving heavy furniture, don't worry, it's a common problem. The oil on the floor's wood isn't worn off, it's just been made very matte by the rubbing. To fix this, take a small, clean, and dry white cloth and put a few drops of finishing oil on it. Gently rub the rubbing marks with the cloth until the oil regains its shine, then gently wipe with a dry cloth to remove any excess oil. It's important to remove all excess and leave nothing on the wood surface. Avoid walking on the repairs for about twelve hours.
