This material is both hard and robust, which allows it to be used for sanding various domestic and exotic wood species. Additionally, aluminum oxide is used for sanding varnishes, lacquers, and other finishing paints.

Papers made from a blend of aluminum oxide and ceramic offer superior durability as well as more aggressive sanding for every hard wood species such as maple, oak, or high-density exotic woods. This blend of materials provides a long lasting durability that can be over 50% compared to a regular abrasive based on aluminum oxide, which justifies its higher price.
