Primol Plus

Discontinued

Primol Plus, from Carver's Green Line series, is a coloring impregnating oil made from natural resins and oils that penetrate wood deeply. It is an ideal oil for both manual and industrial application, on new wood or not. For manual application, Primol Plus can be applied with a brush, roller, sponge, rag, pad or spatula.

Primol Plus is specially designed to color and protect wood flooring, in combination with Greenol Plus. Primol and Greenol will color and nourish wood flooring, while also providing the wood with an excellent resistance to abrasion, dirt, and stains.

Primol Plus colors can be intermixed, giving you access to a wide choice of colors. Floors treated with the Green Line Series should be maintained with Deterol and Dergos products.

How to Use

Before you use the product:

NOTICE
- Agitate Primol Plus well before use, especially in its colored versions!
- In any application method used, it is essential that the oils are applied in thin coats, using the
recommended quantities. A too abundant coating could cause drying problems, particularly in the parquet joining lines (heads and edges) and the wood knots, where excessive oil could accumulate. At the end of the job the product must be completely absorbed by the wood.
- Do not apply at temperatures below 15 °C. Allow the products to reach room temperature before application.
- The drying time increases with the increase of the intensity of the colour.
- Soak used rags and cloths in water immediately after use to prevent spontaneous combustion.

Handmade Application:

  • Sand the wood with #120 grain abrasives, vacuum and tack thoroughly. Apply Primol Plus by roller (with short hair), brush, metal spatula (preferably for very absorbent or hard woods) or pad (sponge, paper, cloth) taking care to spread the product as evenly as possible.
  • After 10-15 minutes remove excessive oil non absorbed by the wood with a cloth or a polyurethane foam rubber spatula (normally this is not necessary when the oil is applied by metal spatula).
  • Within 20-30 minutes after application, before complete superficial drying, polish with a buffer at low speed, using a green pad, to make even the oil coat.
  • After about 4 hrs, to remove any oil residue leaking out of the joining lines and the wood knots, it is advisable to polish again using a yellow or a white pad. In case of strong colours, leave the wood’s pores opened, apply the product uniformly by pad and omit polishing to avoid colouring damage.
  • 20 - 24 hrs later, apply Greenol Plus finish according to the above indications described for Primol Plus. In case of use of coloured Primol Plus, it is advisable to add it to Greenol Plus in a ratio of 1 -2%.

Use and Maintenance of Oiled wood floors:
- 24 hours after the impregnating treatment, the floor can be walked on cautiously.
- 7 -12 days later, it can undergo the usual wearing and the regular maintenance can start. During this lapse of time, avoid laying rugs or dragging heavy pieces of furniture.
- For cleaning and normal maintenance we recommend Deterol wood soap.
- Optionally or in combination, to obtain more protection and sheen, you may use Dergos, water-based cleaner and protective with a low wax content.
