To successfully apply an oil finish to furniture or wooden floors, follow these steps: 

1. Read the label and product data sheet before starting your project. 
2. Start by sanding the wood according to the oil manufacturer's recommendations. 
3. Thoroughly clean the surface with a vacuum, air blower, or cleaner recommended by the oil manufacturer. Never use water to clean the wood. 
4. Apply a thin coat of oil with a spatula, Stain applicator, or White Buffer Pad. 
5. After application, rub the surface in the direction of the grain with a dry, clean cloth to remove any excess oil. If you see wiping marks, there are still oil residues. 
6. If you are using Osmo oil, you will not need to wipe off the excess oil. Simply even out the oil coat with an applicator pad to avoid application marks. 
7. Apply the number of coats recommended by the manufacturer.
