I plan on finishing a maple guitar kit using the following Mohawk Products as well as some water based stain.
1- coat of black stain , sanded back to highlight grain
2- apply 2 coats Colour Tone Red
3- Finish with 9 coats ( 3 per day ) scuff sand each day of instrament lacquer gloss and then finish sand and buff.
Do I need to put 2-3 coats of vinyl sealer over the colour before applying clear lacquer and then level sand ? and if not required how long after appling colour should I start appling clear ?
No problem. So to clarifyu apply E-Z Vinyl Sealer after the stain and then again after the toner before the clear coats are applied and they can be applied anytime after the E-Z Viynl Sealer has dried and been sanded level.
