Preparation: Surface must be sound, dry, and free of dust, dirt, wax, oil, or other contaminants. Sand bare wood as smooth as possible.

Application:

• Do not thin product when using to seal wood. Allow first coat to dry 45 minutes before sanding with 120 or finer grit sandpaper. Apply second coat or topcoat finish. Very porous or open-grain wood may require a second coat.

• Wiping: Use a lint-free cloth. Apply a generous quantity of SealCoat on the surface and wipe away any excess.

• Brushing: Use a natural bristle brush. Apply a full brush load of sealer to the surface using full, even strokes. Do not over-brush.

• Spraying: Maybe spray applied using conventional or HVLP systems.

• Pre-Stain Sealer: Thin product by mixing 3 parts denatured alcohol and 2 parts SealCoat. Apply one coat only with a brush or wipe on with a cloth. After 15 minutes, lightly rub surface with fine synthetic abrasion pad. Apply stain according to manufacturer's directions.

• Pre-Finish Wood Sealer: Apply one or two coats by wiping, brush, or spray.

• Floors: Use a brush or floor finish applicator and coat two or three board widths at a time. Sand with 150 or finer sandpaper or screen before applying second coat or finish coat. Always test lacquers and catalyzed finishes over SealCoat on scrap wood before using.

• Bond Coat and Barrier Coat: May be applied as a bond coat over existing finishes to ensure compatibility and adhesion of oil or water based polyurethane, lacquer and other clearn finishes. SealCoat is a great barrier coat for blocking odours in porous surfaces such as wood, plaster and gypsum board. Apply two full coats.

Dry Time: Dries to touch in 10 minutes. Recoat in 45 to 60 minutes at 21 degrees Celsius. Not recommended for use in areas where surface heat exceeds 71 degrees Celsius.

Clean up: Wipe up drips and spills with a rag and denatured alcohol or use a solution of household ammonia and water. Clean brushes with denatured alcohol or a solution of 1 part sudsy ammonia and two parts water.
