Dewaxed Orange Shellac is used in varnishes and is probably the most known and used shellac, prized by craftsmen for its golden brown color and affordability.
Also known as lemon or amber shellac, it is mostly used for restoring antique furniture. It can be used on bland woods such as maple and poplar in order to give them a beautiful orange color. Orange shellac is often used in combination with platinum and/or blonde shellac.
Dewaxed Orange Shellac is an animal resin which must be dissolved in alcohol.
