In general, most varnishes used for finishing floors, furniture, or woodwork require a curing period before reaching their maximum hardness. It is important to distinguish the drying period (the time to wait before applying an additional coat) from the complete curing period, which is much longer. Once all necessary coats have been applied, it takes between 3 to 21 days for the finish to reach its full hardness. During this period, it is important not to perform any maintenance on the wood and to wait before covering the floor with a rug to avoid interfering with the curing process.
