Wood floors treated with Prato-Verde oils require regular maintenance using Secondo Clean and Secondo Maintenance. These products help preserve the oil layers applied to the wood and maintain the finish.
However, even with weekly maintenance, the finish on the floors gradually deteriorates. Frequent foot traffic and cleaning contribute to the wear of the sheen and the surface layer of Secondo.
When should you apply a new coat of Secondo?
- High-traffic areas (kitchen, dining room, hallways): it is recommended to refresh the finish with Secondo every 2 to 3 years.
- Living rooms and lounges: an application is recommended every 3 to 4 years.
Bedrooms and less frequently used rooms: a new coat of Secondo should be applied every 5 to 7 years.
These recommendations are based on normal use. However, it is up to you to judge when intervention is necessary, depending on the condition of your floor.
