Osmo Country Colour is a very versatile, paint-like, opaque oil finish for use throughout the garden and home. Country Colour is based on microporous oils that allow the wood to breathe whilst giving exceptional resistance and durability for both exterior and interior use, reducing swelling and shrinkage.

Country Colour oil finish is available in a range of deep rich colours that hide the grain and colour of the wood but allow the texture to show through. This product is water-repellent, extremely weatherproof and UV stable. Surfaces treated with Country Colour will not crack, peel, flake or blister.

Osmo Country Colour oil finish is perfect for a wide range of projects, including wooden sidings and cladding, trim, clapboards (shutters), smooth fences, shakes, shingles, pergolas, summer houses, log cabins, boat houses, garden furniture, sheds and more. The dry finish is safe for humans, animals and plants. As it is resistant to saliva and perspiration, is is safe to use on children's toys, and also safe for beehives.

Directions for use

Surface Preparation

Wood surface must be clean, dry and frost-free (moisture content max. 20%).
Osmo Country Colour is ready to use. Do not thin. Stir well before use.
If possible, please apply the first coat to all sides before installation.
Clean old microporous stains thoroughly. Old paints and lacquers must be completely removed.
As a general rule, wear a dust mask during sanding works.
The finished surface is influenced by several factors, including the condition of the wood. Therefore, a trial application is always required, especially for unfamiliar surfaces.
If additional protection against blue stain, rot and insects is desired, pre-treat the wood if possible on all sides with Osmo WR Base Coat.

Methods of Application

With Osmo Flat Brush or Osmo Microfibre Roller, apply thinly and evenly to the clean and dry wood along the wood grain and spread well.
Allow to dry for approx. 10-12 hours under good ventilation.
After drying, apply a second coat – also thinly.
For renovation works, one coat applied to the clean and dry surface is usually sufficient.

Note

If surfaces in outdoor areas (e.g. windows, cladding) require have additional protection, apply one top coat of Osmo UV-Protection-Oil Clear (410 without film protection or 420 with film protection) after thoroughly drying. This protects against dirt contamination and extends the life of the finish. For Country Colour White 2101, please use Natural Oil Woodstain White 900.

Keep out of reach of children. Do not get in eyes, on skin, or on clothing. If medical advice is needed, have product container or label at hand. Use only outdoors or in a well-ventilated area. Warning: Wash out any used cloth impregnated with this product immediately after use or store in an airtight container (danger of self-ignition). The dried finish is classified as B2 (normal flammability) according to DIN 4102 regulations.

FAQ

Is there any protection to preserve the whiteness of the White color?

To prevent color change when applying the White Country Colour, Osmo recommends applying UV-Protection-Oil 429 in Natural Extra color (with biocides). It is also suggested to apply this additional protection on surfaces exposed to UV, as well as on windows and doors.

Can you apply Osmo's Country Color on a surface already treated with Pareo oil?

Yes, it is possible to apply Osmo Country Colour oil finish on wood surfaces that have already been treated with Prato-Verde Pareo Oil. However, it is essential to clean the wood thoroughly to ensure maximum adhesion of the new product. It is also important to test the color beforehand and apply two coats of the product.

Sample sachets need to come with two or three sections so that multiple coats can be applied.
Seems to cover well, but the colour appears far brighter in promo images. Would be better if it had mildicide blended in instead of relying on top-coat.
