INSTABLACK - Wood Treatment - Burnt Wood Effect

INSTABLACK Wood Treatment gives the appearance of burnt wood when applied, without requiring the traditional method of charring the wood surface. INSTABLACK avoids the need for a blowtorch, saves a significant amount of time, ensures a uniform result, and prevents soot formation. This product is compatible with all wood types.

As an economical and quick solution, INSTABLACK is suitable for various projects, including furniture finishing, decorative items, woodwork, and sidings. Additionally, INSTABLACK Wood Treatment can be sealed or varnished.

NOTE: INSTABLACK is not recommended for use on treated wood surfaces. The chemicals present in the treated wood create a protective barrier which prevents the product from working normally. Therefore, some color shift may occur, but will be very subtle.

Limitations

The treated surface must be free of paint, varnish, stain or any other product. For best results, work on a slightly sanded, smooth, dry and dust-free surface.
Results may vary depending on the type of wood used.
INSTABLACK is effective only on wood. Bamboo is a grass, not a tree, so INSTABLACK treatment is not compatible.
Do not use on metal surfaces.
INSTABLACK is not recommended for treated wood surfaces. The chemicals used in treated wood form a barrier preventing the product from achieving optimal results. There, may be a slight discolouration.
INSTABLACK does not contain UV protection. Colour may change over time depending on exposure.

Directions for Use

Before you start

The surface to be treated should be free of paint, varnish, dye or any other product. We recommend working on a lightly sanded, smooth, dry and dust-free surface. INSTABLACK is designed and recommended for indoor projects. However, it can also be used for outdoor projects. Please note that, when used outdoors, the product’s appearance will gradually change with exposure to UV rays, becoming noticeably lighter over time. The best results will be obtained at an application temperature between 12 °C and 30 °C. INSTABLACK is compatible with all types of varnish, sealer and epoxy.

Number of coats

Each coat INSTABLACK enhances the black colour of your surface. We recommend a minimum of two coats. If you find the shade too dark, we recommend lightly sanding the surface.

Tools for applying INSTABLACK

All you need is your INSTABLACK kit, a big-enough container and a tool for applying the product (bristle or foam brush, long-nap roller, sprayer or sponge).

Preparing the solution

Pour the correct quantity of water ( 1 L or 3.78 L) in a container of your choice.
Mix the three sachets well with the water.

Applying the product

Prepare the surface to be treated.
Apply a coat of the solution to the prepared surface.
Allow to dry for at least 30 minutes or until the surface is dry to the touch.
Apply a second coat. (If necessary, add additional coats).

Please note that results may vary according to type of wood used. The user assumes full responsibility for the results following product application according to these instructions. The manufacturer's liability is limited to product replacement.
