I have some ECOPOXY that is about 2 years old and still looks OK in its separate containers. However, I came to use it today and though I followed instructions for ratio mixing (1:1) and slow stirring, it's creating a foam that is not dissipating, even after 15 minutes of mixing.
It's obviously not usable in this state. It's not even starting to gel after 25 minutes.
Is it possible it's too old to use? Does this stuff have an expiry date, even if the contents of each container still look OK?
Or am I doing something wrong?
The epoxy should have been ok. However, by what you describe in your message you would have over mixed and for too long a period. It should not be mixed more that 3 minutes.
Thanks Marilyn. You’re right, I did mix for longer than recommended (instructions actually say 4-5 minutes for UVPOXY). However, it also says to mix until there is no more cloudiness, which is what I was trying to remove by mixing.
Guess I’ll give it another try…
