Classic Mahogany Stain by Epifanes

Epifanes Mahogany Stain is a quick drying, impregnating stain formulated specifically for mahogany and other marine woods. This stain provides a warm, rich, red/brown mahogany color. Depending on desired degree of intensity, a maximum of 3 coats may be applied on bare wood.

Recoatable with Epifanes one-and two-component varnishes. It is possible to mix this stain (10% max) with Epifanes varnish, creating a lightly tinted finish for camouflaging color differences in an existing system.

How to use

Preparation: Clean wood and sand surface using 180-220 grit dry abrasive paper. Remove dust. Degrease thoroughly and allow to dry. Do not use water.

Application: Shake well before use. May be applied by brush or roller. Apply in thin layers only in direction of the wood grain. Allow each coat to dry for at least 2 hours. No sanding is needed between coats. Do not apply in direct sunlight or under hot conditions.

Drying time: 2 hours at 18 degrees C (65F). When applied under 18 degrees Celsius, longer drying times can be expected.
