Ultra Penetrating Stain by Mohawk

Ultra Penetrating Stain is an industrial alcohol based stain N.G.R. type. Ultra Penetrating Stain doesn’t lift the wood grain. Contrary to conventional N.G.R., Ultra Penetrating Stain resist to light and doesn’t change color over the years.

Available in 28 colors that can be mixed together. It’s possible to dilute the Ultra Penetrating Stain using alcohol, the dilution is possible up to 90%. Ultra Penetrating Stain can be superposed to create unique colors.

Directions of use

Application : The Ultra Penetrating Stain can be applied with a cotton rag, paintbrush or a spray gun. To obtain an uniform coloration, it’s important to apply the stain avoiding to pass twice on the same area. Once dry, a second coat can be applied if needed.

Let dry for 1 to 2 hours between coats of stain or before applying a finish.

Finishing : It’s possible to cover the stain with natural of colored waxes, oils, water based lacquers or acrylics varnished.

To create a nice deeper effect (3d) it’s possible to wash the stained wood with some alcohol. For the use of shellac as finish, it’s important to seal the surface using a boiled linseed oil, Tung oil or danish oil because the alcohol contained in the shellac could dissolve the stain and creates washing effects.

Drying time : 1 to 2 hours between coats.

Caution : Extremely flammable. Wear protective glasses and gloves, work in a well ventilated area.
