Silk by Vermeister

Vermeister Silk is a single component waterborne floor finish available in the versions 30, 60 and 90 gloss. Exceptionally resistant to abrasion and scuff marks, Silk is ideal for use in every situation.

From the point of view of appearance, it differs from traditional waterborne products due to its considerable transparency, the cleanliness of the film and, above all, the warm tone that it confers on the wood, avoiding the “whitening” typical of other waterborne finishes.

The EC1 classification certifies the very low emission of volatile organic compounds both during application of the product and when the floor is in use.

Directions for use

Application

Before proceeding with the application, the surface must be treated with a Vermeister waterborne sealer. Alternatively, the product can be applied as a first coat.

Mix the product well and apply a first, even coat. To ensure the application is uniform, the first coat should be applied against the grain and then crossed and spread in the direction of the grain of wood. After 8 hours, the floor can be sanded with an abrasive sandpaper (180-220 grit), vacuumed and then coated again with the same product.

Notes

The application of single component waterborne products on solvent based sealer and finishes may lead to separation if the sanding operation is carried out too lightly. In these cases, use of Vermeister two component waterborne finishes is recommended.
If the product is used on exotic and/or little known woods, it is always advisable to carry out preliminary tests as in some cases (e.g. on IPE LAPACHO) the application of waterborne finishes directly on the wood or on primers that are not perfectly insulating, may cause a considerable reddening of the film.
Do not apply the product below 10°C or above 30°C.
Do not replace any leftover product in the container!
Mix well before use
Store above freezing.

Freeze/thaw stability	Avoid too many freeze-thaw cycles. If the product has frozen, allow the product to thaw at room temperature for 48 hours without stirring.
Maintenance	For the maintenance of coated floors use only Detegente Neutro and/or Idronet. Do not use alcohol, ammonia or detergents for hard surfaces.
