Directions for use

Preparation

Stir thoroughly before using. Add Waterborne Conversion Varnish Catalyst M641-701 slowly while stirring at a rate of 5% by volume. Allow to sit for 5-10 minutes before use.
Once catalysed the pot life is 24 hours.

Apply over Mohawk Waterborne Pre-Catalyzed Sealer [M640-21007] or Waterborne Wood Tone Sealer [MA641-24007] or use as a self sealing system, and allow 30-45 minutes to dry before sanding with 320 grit sandpaper.

Application

Spray Waterborne Conversion Varnish in light, even coats of 3-4 wet mils. Always scuff sand previous coat with 320 grit sandpaper and remove any sanding dust from the surface before applying any additional coats.

Total finishing system, including sealer and topcoats, should not exceed 4 dry mils. Waterborne sealers and finishes are high solids, quick building products. Excessive finish build can lead to a cloudy finish especially in lower sheens, cracking, cold
checking and other finish failures.

Notes

Waterborne Conversion Varnish may be tinted with waterborne colorants not to exceed 10% addition by volume.

Protect from freezing. If product has been frozen, place product at room temperature (minimum 70 degrees F) and allow 2-4 days for material to become fluid. Catalyze as directed. If further reduction is needed then add 5-8% water by volume
and stir.

If desired viscosity is still too high, reduce carefully using 1 fluid ounce per gallon at a time. Over-reduction could compromise the film thickness and potentially cause craters to form.

Waterborne Conversion Varnish (M641-21XXX) is manufactured at spray viscosity
