Is it wise to use a single coat oil finish for a wooden surface? What about durability?

Single coat oil finishes are becoming increasingly popular and offer many benefits to the user. It is now possible to create an oil coat that hardens sufficiently in 24 hours to be used with caution. Rubio Monocoat products, Osmo 2K Wood Oil and Odie's oils are examples of single coat oils. Users of these oils appreciate the fact that they do not need to apply a second or even a third coat.

But what about durability in the medium and long term? According to user feedback, these products have excellent durability over time and can be refreshed without any problems. As with all wood finishes, regular maintenance will help preserve the beauty of the finish and avoid the need to redo the entire process by using the maintenance products recommended by the manufacturer. A small coat of maintenance oil will also extend the life of the initial treatment.
