What product can be used as an alternative to clear Danish oil to achieve a shinier finish?
General Finishes offers a similar product to clear Danish oil with several additional benefits. The product is called Arm-R-Seal, and is a very liquid varnish that can be applied with either a cloth, pad, or sponge brush. Unlike Danish oils, Arm-R-Seal does not require wiping and dries quickly. Moreover, it is available in different sheens such as satin, semi-gloss, or gloss. After applying three coats, this product gives a similar appearance to a thin lacquer. It is also possible to use a water or oil-based stain before applying Arm-R-Seal to achieve the desired result.
