How to color Double Boiled Linseed Oil for beautiful effects in shades of light Oak to Wenge.

Liquid or water soluble Walnut stain can be used with the Double Boiled Linseed Oil to produce a colored oil.

This recipe is easy to prepare and to use, furthermore, it’s very economical and environmentally friendly.

Ingredients :

Liquid Walnut Stain
Double Boiled Linseed Oil
Citrus Solvent or Low Odor Thinner

Liquid Walnut Stain preparation.

100 g of Walnut Stain for ½ liter of lukewarm water.
Mix until complete dissolution.

Here’s some recipe to color Linseed Oil.

Light Oak

10 ml of Liquid Walnut Stain
200 ml of Double Boiled Linseed Oil
50 ml of Citrus Solvent or Low Odor Thinner **

Medium Oak

20 ml of Liquid Walnut Stain
150 ml of Double Boiled Linseed Oil
50 ml of Citrus Solvent or Low Odor Thinner**

Dark Oak

50 ml of Liquid Walnut Stain
100 ml of Double Boiled Linseed Oil
50 ml of Citrus Solvent or Low Odor Thinner**

Wenge

100 ml of Liquid Walnut Stain
50 ml of Double Boiled Linseed Oil
50 ml of Citrus Solvent or Low Odor Thinner**

** The part of Solvent is optional, the solvent will slow the drying time and allows a better application.
