I have a few species of solid wood guitars Pine, Alder and Ash that I will be finishing (see Images below) either painting or staining then finishing with Behlen guitar finishing lacquer and require the process for preparing each species of wood for finishing cab you help?

I had some information from you folks previously but had a hard drive issue and lost the information.

Marilyn,

Thank you for the emails there was also a previous one with more information.

In particular, I was wanting to know which species of wood needed the grain filler prior to sealing and finishing. Also the ratios of lacquer and retarder for spraying.

Only the Ash species would need a grain filler.
We recommend Timber Mate Woodfiller.
As for diluting the lacquer and retarder, 5% is what is recommended but no more than 10%.

Hope this answers your questions.
