African Mahogany slats for outdoor furniture
Understand Epifane Varnish is the best for exterior protection
Wish to bring out the reddish tone in the wood.
Recommendation for a stain/oil/tint prior to Epifane application?

Hi,

Basically, any type of water-based stain can be applied before the Epifanes Varnish. You must just make sure that the stain has dried thoroughly.

We can suggest the SamaN Stain for Fine Wood and Floors. There is a great array of colors to choose from.

Hope this helps!

Just to be sure: You indicate using a water-based stain & then the Varnish (oil-based).

I note you have a Classic Mahogany Stain (? oil based). Your description is the exact color I am looking for.

What about applying that stain & then the varnish?

Thanks for taking the time to respond!

Hi,

Yes absolutely! There is no problem using the Epifanes Mahogany Stain.

Sorry for not thinking to offer that as an option!

Thank you!

Last question before I place my order:

Is the Mahogany Stain oil or water based?

Thx.

It's an oil stain.
