Hello,

I’ve got a newly refinished island countertop in reclaimed pine. We love the natural look and want to protect/seal it. As you can see, when wiping it down with water it gets quite a bit darker, with yellows and oranges coming through.
Hoping to use the Rubio Monocoat 2C in White to keep it light and protected.
Would this be a good route to go? Any other suggestions or recommendations?

Hi,

The Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C is certainly a good option for this project.

As this countertop is made of reclaimed wood, it shows a variety of different colors. Applying a white tint over yellow and orange wood might not be the look you wish to have.

We strongly recommend color testing before attempting to do the whole counter. Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2Cdoes offer color sample that will do the trick.

For optimal results manufacturer instructions must be carefully followed and respected.

Hope this helps,
