For durability testing or final application, we recommend using in conjunction with Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C - Component B, which acts as an accelerator and hardener.

Used this to stain spalted arbutus (also known as madrona), a very touchy/warpy, pale and tight-grained wood. Couldn't find much online about how to treat it, settled on Rubio. Mixed 75 brown + 25 red, and as you can see the red in the wood immediately drank it up. It looks incredible in person, we get compliments often. Highly recommend you work with multiple people to buff it in to this sort of wood, unless you have a mechanical buffer -- it soaks in very very fast.
