Preparation:
- Prepare the surface by sanding with 220-grit sandpaper.

- Eliminate all dust, solvent and oil from the surface to be treated.

- Depending on the finishing schedule, apply pre-stain sealer and/or wood stain prior to grain filling.

- HSF5000 can be tinted with water-soluble dyes and/or pigments to create a ground color for natural grain color enhancement.

- For applications on MDF or maple, there may be a migration of minerals or other components present in the MDF and create yellowing in the finish. Target Coating recommends applying two coats of BIN Primer-Sealer Stain Killer before applying white HSF5000.

- HSF5000 can be mixed with 5% CL100 CrossLinker in order to increase sub-level hardness and adhesion when the product is applied on surfaces that are difficult to finish.

Application:
- Spray, brush or roll-apply HSF5000 onto prepared substrate.

- Apply HSF5000 at a 2-3 mil wet film thickness per coat.

- Let each coat dry at room temperature for at least one hour.

- Sand each coat with 320-grit sandpaper to remove any surface defect.

- Apply at least 2 coats to obtain a filled grain effect. This will vary depending of the wood species being treated. Repeat if required to complete fill in negative grain.

- Let dry 2 hours between each filler application to ensure proper drying of underlying filler.

- Apply stain or dye again if necessary to egalize color tone.
