Many customers ask us if oils can be applied on wax.

The answer is yes, with the proviso that the oil used contains a minimum quantity of solvent (15 to 20 %).

The solvent contained in the oil will contribute to dissolve the wax. The oil will act the same way as if there was nothing on the wood.

If you have some doubts you can always use some Citrus Solvent and a steel wool # 00 to remove the wax before using the oil.

Please note that many well-known brands of oil contain waxes.
