Add cross-linker to the final coat only.
Measure 2-5% of CL100 based on the quantity of water-based coating to be catalyzed. You can use the numbers below:
- For 2% concentration:
- 32oz / 946ml of coating: 0.5 fl oz / 15ml
- 1 Gal / 3.7 L of coating: 2.5 fl oz / 75ml
- 5 Gal / 18.5 L of coating: 12 fl oz / 355ml
- For 5% concentration:
- 32oz / 946ml of coating: 1.5 fl oz / 45ml
- 1 Gal / 3.7 L of coating: 6.5 fl oz / 190ml
- 5 Gal / 18.5 L of coating: 32 fl oz / 946ml
Gently stir the selected water-based coating while slowly adding the pre-measured CL100 into the coating. Continue to gently stir the cross-linker/coating mixture for 5 minutes. Allow the cross-linker/coating to react for a minimum of 30 minutes before using.
For best results premix cross-linker/coating 2-4 hours before applying. This will ensure optimum catalyst reaction time and flow/levelling performance of the coating during spray or brush applications.
