Idro 2K by Vermeister

Vermeister Idro 2K is a two component polyurethane waterborne non-yellowing floor finish available in the versions 10, 30 and 50 gloss.

In the 10 gloss version, Idro 2K confers a “natural wood” effect to wood floors and the floors treated with this finish acquire a natural appearance, a uniformity and cleanliness that can only be compared to the results achieved with impregnation cycles using oil and/or wax.

The EC1 classification certifies the very low level emission of volatile organic compounds both when the product is applied and when the floor is in use.

Apart from these features regarding appearance, Idro 2K combines qualities of resistance to abrasion and rubber marks never before achieved by waterborne products, and so it is even recommended for use on heavy duty floorings (in salons, shops, etc.).

If it is applied directly without a primer, it brightens up the colour of the wood quite considerably, without leading to yellowing over time.

Directions for use

Application

Before proceeding with the application, the surface must be treated with a Vermeister waterborne sealer.

It is important to take care not to “wear through” the layer of primer when sanding.

Mix component A with component B, in the prescribed proportions, stirring continuously to prevent the formation of skin or lumps. If these impurities should be noticed, it is advisable to filter the product before use.

Apply Idro 2K in a uniform way. Usually at this point, the finish is complete. If it should be necessary to apply another coat, it can be done after 3-5 hours without sanding. If the interval before overcoating should be longer than 5 hours, the floor must be sanded before applying the finish to prevent separation from occurring. Alternatively, IDRO 2K can be applied directly on the wood instead of the sealer.

Use of Idro 2K is not recommended on solvent based semigloss/matt polyurethane moisture-cure finishes due to the risk of flaking in the case of insufficient sanding.

To facilitate the application of the product, it can be diluted 5 to 10% with water after the two components have been mixed together. If the product is diluted any more than the quantities stated above, coverage may be reduced with a consequent lack of uniformity in the finished appearance.

Freeze/thaw stability	Avoid too many freeze-thaw cycles. If the product has frozen, allow the product to thaw at room temperature for 48 hours without stirring.
Maintenance	The maintenance of finished floors must only be carried out using Detergente Neutro and/or Idronet. Do not use alcohol, ammonia or detergents for hard surfaces.
