Velvet by Vermeister

Discontinued

Vermeister Velvet is a polyurethane waterborne floor finishing treatment with S-XL technology (Self Cross-Linking System), formulated with renewable raw materials.

Floors treated with Velvet have a completely natural appearance and a unique velvety feel to the touch.

Thanks to the high solid content and the extraordinary speed of drying, the product allows very fast work cycles to be carried out (1-2 hours according to environmental conditions).

Another very important feature is the ease with which the floors can be touched up if the surface is damaged or in the event of localised defects: in fact, work can be carried out just on those areas by marking them off with tape, sanding them and then reapplying the product.

When the surface is dry, there are no signs of marks or imperfections.

  • Low environmental impact
  • Natural effect
  • Velvety feel to the touch
  • Possibility of fast cycles (1 to 2 hours)
  • Possibility of invisible touch ups
  • Ideal for heavy traffic with the addition of Velvet Improver (included)

For Professional Use Only

Directions for use

Application

Sand and fill the floor using a 120/150 grit to finish. To fill the floor, Vermeister solvent based binders for fillers or waterborne binders can be used. Apply a first, even coat of Velvet with a roller or a brush. After 1-2 hours, according to environmental conditions, sand with a fine grit (180/240) and remove all the residue dust.

Apply the finishing coat in the same way as described above. For places subject to heavy traffic (shops, offices, living rooms) use of the cross-linking agent Velvet Improver is recommended in quantities of 10% as it greatly improves resistance to abrasion and to staining. The floor is ready for traffic after 12 hours.

Notes:

  • The application of single component waterborne products on solvent based primers and finishes may lead to problems of separation if the sanding is carried out too lightly.
  • Therefore, in these cases we recommend using two component waterborne finishes from the Vermeister range. If the product is used on exotic and/or little known woods, it is always advisable to carry out some preliminary tests as in some cases (e.g. on IPE LAPACHO) the application of waterborne products may cause a considerable reddening of the film.
  • Do not apply the product under 10°C or over 30°C.
  • Do not put any leftover product back into the container
  • Mix the two components carefully in a flat bottomed container.
  • Stir well before use
  • Store above freezing.
